Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the demand for pulse oximeters from both domestic and international governments and private sectors has surged, overwhelming business operations. Leadtek Technology prioritized assisting the government in the fight against the pandemic and safeguarding public health, urgently reallocating production capacity to supply government agencies, including the Changhua County Government, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Taichung City Government, and was honored with a Letter of Appreciation from the Changhua County Government.

Leadtek Technology has been involved in the smart healthcare and health care field since 2000, focusing on the research and development of technologies and products related to autonomic nervous system analysis (HRV) and electrocardiograms (ECG). In 2019, it expanded into the pulse oximeter market. Currently, the Alvital brand pulse oximeter holds a steady top-two market share in Taiwan.

In fact, the need for pulse oximeters is not limited to COVID-19. Many chronic heart and lung diseases can lead to low blood oxygen levels, such as severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep apnea. Doctors often recommend that these patients use professionally certified medical-grade pulse oximeters at home to monitor their health. Medical-grade pulse oximeters are classified as Class II medical devices and cannot be sold online. People should purchase products from authorized medical device retailers or pharmacies that hold a medical device license, and avoid purchasing from unauthorized online sources to ensure both their health and safety.
