Lin Zhi-Sung, Founder of Da Zuo Craftsman
In recent years, the gaming industry has flourished. In addition to the International Olympic Committee's 2017 recognition of esports as a "sport," esports was included as an official event in the 2022 Asian Games. As the vice president of the esports association, Lin Zhi-Sung successfully identified the commercial value of the esports industry and created a broad stage for it. Aside from his love for games, Lin also has a deep passion for extreme sports and board sports. Let’s take a look at his different side.

Apart from gaming, Lin enjoys surfing, skateboarding, skiing, and cycling. He shares that due to a serious ankle injury, doctors advised him to avoid high-impact activities requiring jumping. Speaking about surfing, Lin excitedly shares, "It's challenging to get started, so catching a wave is incredibly satisfying, and every wave is different, making it very fun." He also laughs, saying, "Surfing is a lot like gaming. It requires full concentration, and the result can be decided in a fraction of a second, which makes it very enjoyable and beneficial for physical health."
In addition to surfing, cycling is also one of his favorite activities, and he now rides 100-200 kilometers a week. Lin is also planning a cycling trip to Hokkaido this June. However, he has faced the problem of wet cycling shoes. He shares, "It’s uncomfortable to ride with wet shoes on rainy days. Many people use shoe covers, but they feel stuffy." When talking about waterproof sprays, Lin recommends the New Ka Ling, explaining, "After spraying it on the shoes, it doesn’t affect breathability, and the effect lasts for 180 days. If my usual GORE-TEX shoes lose their waterproof function, I can reapply it."
Long rides can also lead to muscle soreness, which Lin typically alleviates by soaking in hot springs or taking BCAA supplements to help recovery. He shares, "Now, when I go skiing or cycling, I always carry these with me." Additionally, he uses BtNPN plant nano patches to help relieve muscle pain.
Speaking about his experience with BtNPN plant nano patches, Lin says, "The turmeric patch has a very natural scent, without the typical medicinal smell, and it’s not too stimulating. Some patches can feel stifling after a long period, but this one doesn’t cause itching or heat buildup, and it sticks well without peeling at the edges. I really like the essential oil component, which feels very therapeutic, and I highly recommend it." As for the results, Lin believes, "Using it after stretching is very helpful for recovery."

The brand name "Da Zuo Craftsman" actually comes from the "Tao Te Ching." Lin Zhi-Sung explains, "In the Tao Te Ching, the term 'great skill appears clumsy' refers to the idea of 'great wisdom appearing foolish,' which greatly inspired us. We want to discover every charming flavor and every thoughtful craft. Even if the appearance isn't flashy, it should always provide a real and unforgettable taste." We always remember the original intention of the brand’s creation, maintaining the craftsman spirit, continuously seeking high-quality Taiwanese ingredients, and developing more delicious products to realize the brand spirit of 'Better food for better life' and make everyone’s life better through Da Zuo Craftsman."
Speaking about future business goals, Lin says, "Next, we plan to enter the U.S. market so that Americans can also experience the deliciousness of Taiwanese noodles. Taiwan’s food industry is strong, and not only for Da Zuo Craftsman, but we also hope to bring the Taiwan supply chain, formed from our source production, to the world and promote the wonderful flavors of Taiwan globally."
