Schisandra: A Natural Miracle, The Legend of Skin Repair

Schisandra is one of Taiwan's native orchids, also known as "native orchid." It is famous for being rich in polyphenols and flavonoids, and is widely regarded as a natural essence of plants with powerful antioxidant effects. Scientific research has confirmed that Schisandra's components, such as flavonoids, panax notoginseng phenol, and ferulic acid, have outstanding antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin repair properties.

Flavonoids are recognized as the strongest antioxidants in the world. With a small molecular structure, they are water-soluble and easily absorbed by the human body. According to TVBS reports, the antioxidant power of flavonoids exceeds that of common antioxidant fruits like lemons and oranges, even being 50 times stronger than vitamin E and 20 times stronger than vitamin C!

Panax notoginseng phenol is a unique component of Schisandra's roots, with exceptional antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It is widely used in the repair of damaged skin, improving discomfort in sensitive skin and the dullness caused by dryness.

Ferulic acid, a phenolic acid found in plant cell walls, has multiple effects, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, whitening, and antibacterial properties. These characteristics make Schisandra highly effective in treating skin inflammation and burns, which is why it has been widely used in traditional therapies.

According to information on Wikipedia, Schisandra is listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. In the past, it could be found in low to mid-altitude plains, field edges, and wetland grasslands across Taiwan. However, due to habitat destruction and overharvesting, it faces the risk of extinction. Fortunately, some organizations in Taiwan are dedicated to the propagation and conservation of Schisandra, ensuring that this rare plant species does not disappear due to human destruction.
